Biographical noteAda Pearce Cherry (Aug. 13, 1856-June 28, 1934) of Greenville, N.C. was a singer, songwriter, and director of Jarvis Memorial Methodist Church. She was known as "Greenville's Sweet Singer" and received the copyright for a new tune to the old hymn "How Firm a Foundation."
